Why worm composting to save nature?

Introduction
Composting with earthworm is a simple and beneficial to the nature. The worm is a feeder that can eat your extra fruits, vegetables, newspaper and your expired bread. But it is not for dairy products, meat and seafood. We will discuss about the medium for worm composting later on.
Worm composting is for indoors and outdoors like in small room and also can use your garden.
Compose is a substance that is produced through the breakdown of the organic material by worm and also by microorganism. This worm composting will returns your waste to the soil. The compose can help to maintain your plants. It will save your time and money.

Kompos menggunakan cacing tanah ialah cara yang mudah untuk menyelamatkan alam sekitar. Cacing ialah pemakan barangan lebihan seperti lebihan buah, sayur, surat khabar dan roti yang dah expired. Kita akan bincangkan medium untuk kompos cacing kemudian. Kompos cacing ini boleh di lakukan di luar dan di dalam rumah mengikut keselesaan masing-masing. Kompos ialah bahan yang di hasilkan dari uraian bahan organik daripada cacing dan juga mikroorganisma lain. Kompos ini dapat menukarkan bahan buangan tertentu kepada bentuk baja. Ia dapat digunakan pada tumbuhan dan menyelamatkan wang dan masa anda.

Composting item
The main waste item that we can use to save the nature and at the same time we provide food for our lovely worm are as follows:

1. Vegetables - any vegetables we can use for worm composting but avoid oily material. The acidic vegetables is not recommended (ex : lettuce)
2. Fruits - an extra fruits like apple, banana
3. Egg shells -crunch first
4. Newspaper - can use also paper towel
5. Grass and leaves
6. Garden pruning,
7. Ground coffee, tea leaves
8. Dead flowers, old potting mix and weed

There are a few things that can make your compost bad. These seafood, onion, dairy product, oily material and meat. It don't break down easily and may attract unwanted mice, rat and insects.

Compose bin
There is a wide range of compose bin that we can use. We also can create our own bin using wood and make it as a box and we also can buy the basket from hypermarker for 24" x 18" (recommended) aroud RM7.00 only and then cover it with plastic to prevent worm from run away. You can also buy this products from the internet, but i dont sell it yet. May be in the future. For enquiries please reply. The bin should be placed directly on to soil to allow drainage, away from the house and in a part of the garden.

How do I get started?
Composting is easy.
1. Choose what type for bin you want to use
2. Layer the bottom with coarse materials (compose of carbon and nitrogen source of waste). Recommended : newspaper, wood and any waste from goats and cows mix together)
3. Water each layer to ensure that materials are moist.
4. Keep each layer 1-2 cm thick and use a variety of materials in each layer.
6. Turn every week.
After a few weeks the finished compost should be dark and ready to put into the garden. Mature compost can be used as fertiliser for your garden and lawn, for growing seedlings, as potting mix.
